I've always loved mid-February because Valentines Day brings the perfect excuse to start wearing pastels again! It's usually still cool outside, but I'll take any excuse to break up the same dark toned clothes with some lighter hues. I feel like once we make it to Valentines Day, it's perfectly acceptable to start wearing spring clothes (

even though I'm sure it's still too early

).

I found this sweater for less than $15 at Zara last year, but unfortunately it's now long gone. I've linked some other options that are almost identical though, seen

here

,

&

here

. While I try to make it feel like spring with brighter colors, the temperature outside says otherwise! By pairing a staple

puffer vest

with the sweater, it adds just enough warmth without being too hot. To keep the look bright and "springy", I added my go-to pair of

winter white jeans

, and finished the look off with a staple pair of

booties

Make sure to check back later this week to see how I style my second "Valentines Day inspired" outfit. Thanks for reading!

One of my favorite tv shows is definitely Gossip Girl. From the macaroons to the glamorous parties, I love to indulge in a few good episodes of the "scandalous lives of Manhattan's elite". Anyone who has seen the show will understand the over-the-top yet flawless wardrobes of the stars of the show, particularly Blair and Serena. I have always been torn between who I liked better as a character: Blair or Serena. But when it comes down to it, Serena wins my vote due 100% to her amazing outfits. Those stylists knew what they were doing!

One of my favorite outfits of Serena's was in the

pilot

of Season 5. Something about the bold, pink palazzo pants and Parisian chic hat has always stuck with me. When I saw these pants last summer, I knew they were the perfect piece to recreate her iconic look. Not only was I able to channel my inner SVDW, but I was able to do it at a fraction of the cost!

Let me know what y'all think about "get the look" posts in the comments below!

I'm convinced a good rainy day outfit can totally change your day. By being properly prepared for bad weather, it becomes exciting to throw on your favorite rain boots instead of a dread to face the day [not pictured: 1 hour earlier when I wasn't wearing rain attire and had mascara and hair all over my face because I got caught in the downpour!].

There's something I love about Valentines day because it's like you're almost

expected

to wear something super girly and feminine. I love outfits that feel so chic - so Jackie, Audrey or Diana. Something about putting in a little bit of extra effort makes all the difference.

Like I mentioned last week, I was hoping to get to show y'all a new skirt I have that would have been perfect for the occasion. Unfortunately the timing just didn't work out. Also, I didn't really think that chicken pox scars screamed girly! So the skirt will have to wait for now, but I still want to feature it when it gets a little warmer. Valentines day makes me feel like it's spring, so I break out all my pastels and shorts, but I'm very quickly reminded by the weather that it in fact is

not

 yet spring.

I originally thought I would just create the outfit I was planning on posting in a collage, but unfortunately the skirt isn't on the

website

anymore! It turned out to be a great thing though, because I found this super chic and feminine skirt instead!! I would almost say I like this outfit more because it really couldn't get any more girly. I kept with the feel of the skirt and added simple pieces that all have a little twist. I love playing with texture, and I think the necklace and clutch do that so well. Calf hair has been a recent obsession of mine, and this

one

from Anthropolgie just seemed perfect for this outfit. It also can't hurt that

everything is less than $150 :)

Have a great weekend!

xoxo
